Nestled in the heart of Burlington County, Mount Holly, NJ, is a charming town rich in history and vibrant culture. Main Street Mount Holly is our volunteer-driven, non-profit organization whose mission is to protect, promote and enhance historic ​Mount Holly’s downtown and vicinity.

Work Objectives

The Main Street Mount Holly Executive Director is the principal on-site staff person responsible for coordinating all program activities and volunteers, as well as representing the community regionally and nationally as appropriate. He/she coordinates activities within our downtown revitalization program, including the development, execution, and documentation of Main Street Mount Holly’s programs and initiatives.

Duties

· Record keeping

· Budget development & accounting

· Leading fundraising efforts

· Overseeing & managing volunteers

· Preparing reports required by the state Main Street program and by the National Main Street Center

· Assisting with the preparation of reports to funding agencies

· Utilizing the Main Street program format, develop and maintain data systems to track the progress of the local Main Street program via economic monitoring, individual building files, photographic documentation of physical changes, and statistics on job creation and business retention

· Maintain local Main Street program records and reports

· Encourage a cooperative climate among downtown interests and local public officials, building strong and productive relationships with appropriate public agencies at the local and state levels

· Advise downtown merchants of Main Street program activities and goals

· Help coordinate joint promotional events

· Work closely with local media to ensure maximum coverage of promotional activities

· Be prepared and comfortable speaking effectively about the program

· Manage all correspondence (emails, PO box, etc.)

· Executive Director reports directly to the Board President and executive board

Job Knowledge and Skills Required

The Executive Director should have education and/or experience in several of the following areas:

· Commercial district management

· Economics

· Finance

· Public relations

· Planning

· Business administration

· Public administration

· Volunteer or non-profit

· Architecture/historic preservation

· Small business development

The Executive Director must be sensitive to design and preservation issues and must understand the issues confronting our downtown businesses, property owners, public agencies, and community organizations. The Director must be entrepreneurial, energetic, imaginative, well organized, and capable of functioning effectively in an independent environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as relationship-building skills are essential. As the public face of the organization, this person should demonstrate personability and enthusiasm, with a positive mindset and dedication to the organization’s core values. Must be proficient in standard business software and programs and be able to navigate and post on Facebook & Instagram. Supervisory skills are desirable. Someone who lives in Mount Holly or one of the RVRHS sending districts strongly preferred.

Position starts as part time, could transition to full time

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $35,000.00 – $50,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week
